Hostage Updates

  • The father of the abducted Liri Albeg demands from Netanyahu: "You're only saying what not, tell me what yes! - You only need to do one thing!"

The political system and the public were not indifferent to the publication of the abduction video from the Nahal Oz base • Minister Gantz: "The belly turns over - the responsibility of leaders is to create a different reality even when it comes to difficult decisions" • PM Netanyahu: "Strengthens my determination to eliminate Hamas" • Liberman: "The sights of horror and evil of the Nazi monsters from Hamas do not leave my head" • Chair of NAMAT: "The entire people of Israel got a glimpse of what hell looks like"

In the horrific video, you can see the handcuffed soldiers begging for their lives, surrounded by dozens of armed militants - moments before they were abducted to the Strip. Eli Albag, the father of the abducted Liri Albag in Gaza, appealed to Netanyahu in the N12 News studio: "I hear you and you only say what you can't do, tell me what yes! We want our hostages at home, I want my family, my daughter at home - you only need to do one thing, three people, raise your hand for negotiation for a deal." The political system was also in turmoil after watching the difficult video. Chairman of the State Camp and Cabinet member Minister Benny Gantz wrote: "The belly turned over, and the thoughts of them do not let go and will not let go until they return, and all the daughters and sons return. But the responsibility of leaders is not only to look at reality - it is to create a different reality even when it comes to difficult decisions. And that is our responsibility."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also responded to the video: "I am shocked. We will continue to do everything to bring them home. The cruelty of Hamas militants only strengthens my determination to fight with all might until Hamas is eliminated, in order to ensure that what we saw tonight never happens again."  link  Netanyahu's statement of shock is disgusting. He knows very well what happened there. Did he see the full video or parts of it before? Probably. If we give him the benefit of the doubt, which he shouldn't be given under the circumstances, he certainly has seen parts or all of the horrifying video that has been shown to international diplomats. We know that many of the cabinet members haven't seen any of the videos, because as Smotrich said, he wants to sleep at night. Disgusting. The families and the hostages don't have the luxury of being able to sleep at night. Their peace was shattered October 7 and they are still living that nightmare and their abandonment by this government has continued to this day, nearly 8 months.

  • The father and son Hamas rapists - Terrorists describe going house to house carrying out sex attacks and murder: 'One screamed and cried... father raped her then I did then my cousin did then father killed her'  An evil father and son have revealed to Israeli investigators how they killed and raped innocent civilians after taking part in the Hamas invasion.

Shameless Jamal Hussein Ahmad Radi, 47, and his son Abdallah, 18, were captured by IDF forces in Gaza and questioned about the atrocities they committed in a kibbutz close to the border.

In video footage of their confession obtained by MailOnline, the men chillingly describe murdering innocent civilians in their homes, kidnapping others and brutally raping women they found and shooting them once they had finished their evil acts. Details of the horrific sexual-related violence carried out emerged in the weeks after the invasion which left more than 1,200 people dead and has sparked a fierce retaliation by Israeli forces in Gaza.

In the footage the men – dressed in grey tracksuits and with handcuffs - are seen sitting in front of an Israeli flag as they are questioned by an Arabic speaking member of the Shin Bet security service at a secret location. Father-of-seven Radi, a member of the Hamas Security Service, who was captured in March in Gaza, describes how he, his son and other terrorists broke into the Nir Oz kibbutz. Without any visible sign of remorse he said: 'In each house where we found someone, we either killed them or kidnapped them.'

Pressed further he added: 'In the first house I found a woman and her husband, and we shot and killed them…they were in their late 40s.'

He then went on to confess how he had raped one woman and said: 'She was screaming, she was crying, I did what I did, I raped her.

'I threatened her with my gun to take her clothes off, I remember she was wearing jean shorts, that's about it.'

'I don't know what happened to her, I was there for fifteen minutes and then I left.'

But according to his son Abdallah, his father killed the woman, as he told investigators: 'My father raped her, then I did and then my cousin did and then we left but my father killed the woman after we finished raping her.

'Before this woman, we had raped another girl as well, I killed two people, I raped two people, and I broke into five houses.'

The chilling confessions come two months after Pramila Patten, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, released a report on sexual violence carried out during the October 7 attacks.

She questioned several victims and said:' What I witnessed in Israel were scenes of unspeakable violence perpetrated with shocking brutality.'

During a month-long visit earlier this year she spoke to 34 survivors and visited four kibbutzim as well as morgues where the bodies of victims were kept. Ms Patten said: 'It was a catalogue of the most extreme and inhumane forms of killing, torture and other horrors.'

Women who attended the Nova music festival were also targeted for conflict-related sexual violence during the October 7 attack.

The video confessions come after horrifying footage of five terrified women captured by Hamas fanatics being threatened at gunpoint, was released on Wednesday.

Commenting on the confessions video an IDF spokesperson told MailOnline: 'Over the past months, we've seen countless evidence of the brutal violence used by Hamas on October 7th, including harrowing acts of gender-based and sexual violence.

'These confessions further prove that any attempt to deny the horrors of October 7th, and discredit the testimonies of witnesses, survivors and freed hostages, is part of a campaign to de-legitimize Israel, and to promote the justification of terrorism.'

The spokesperson added that both father and son were in custody awaiting trial.

link to article in the Daily Mail.        Link to video confession   --these  are the barbarians that people around the world are protesting for. I don't understand why our government is not circulating videos like this and of their atrocities to the world to show what they did and how they are beneath contempt as are any of the people who are supporting them and their acts.

  • The war cabinet unanimously approved new guidelines for Israeli negotiators in an effort to revive the talks on a hostage-for-truce deal with Hamas, the Walla new site reports, after the high-level forum convened last night.

The report doesn’t give any details on these guidelines, while a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said only that the war cabinet ordered the negotiating team “to continue negotiations for the return of the hostages.”

The meeting was held after the families of hostages released harrowing footage showing the abduction of five female soldiers from the Nahal Oz base by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, with some of the parents saying their goal in releasing the video is to wake up the country, and especially the leadership, to work more urgently to secure their release.  link  --Obviously, the war cabinet is not giving details about the new guidelines but it is doubtful that they consist of the simple words "bring them home" which is what is needed. It wasn't until Netanyahu said these words to David Meidan (the coordinator on the issue of POWs and MIAs appointed by Netanyahu who worked with my brother to get the soldier Gilad Schalit home from 5 years and 4 months captivity by Hamas). Until Netanyahu said those words, there was no chance of getting him home because he and Olmert before him, were not willing to pay the price to get him home. It took all that time and we ended up paying the demands that Hamas presented 5 years before. It will be the same now. Hamas made certain demands that will not change no matter how much they want them to. If the deal will be in stages, as it probably will be, Hamas will probably show certain flexibility in the number of Palestinian prisoners to be released per hostage as well as the amount of time for a pause in hostilities. However, Sinwar set upon himself a life mission of emptying out Israeli jails from Palestinian prisoners and that will be the demand of the following stages. The same can be said about ending the war. There is no way that Hamas will agree to release all of the hostages, especially the soldiers and those they call soldiers (men in the age group of reserve duty) without an end of the war with international guarantees. Anyone who seriously thinks that a deal to get all the hostages home without those two very undesirable elements, is just deluding themselves and the public.

  •  The brother of the army observer showed the abduction video to a British senior official: "He was in shock": Amit Levi, the older brother of spotter Naama Levi, showed the abduction video of his sister yesterday (Wednesday) to the British Deputy Prime Minister, Oliver Dowden. At the time of the video's release, at 6:00 PM Israeli time, Amit was in a meeting at the British Cabinet Office with senior government officials, where he presented the difficult footage.

In the middle of the meeting, Amit asked for permission to view and show the participants the abduction video of his sister. "The harsh reactions, the shock from the viewing of the Deputy Prime Minister and all the other attendees - attest to the atrocities of Hamas," the headquarters of the families of the captives stated. "This shows the urgent need to return Naama and all the other 127 captives home, immediately!"

The parents of the five observers who were abducted from the Nahal Oz base and are still held hostage by Hamas, released the abduction video of the girls to the public and the media last night. The video was recorded from the body cameras of Hamas militants on October 7th. In the video, you can see the handcuffed soldiers, begging for their lives, surrounded by dozens of armed militants - moments before they were abducted to the Strip.
The video, which lasts three minutes and ten seconds, was edited and censored, and does not include parts showing the many casualties at the Nahal Oz base, the casualties in the armored personnel carrier from which the spotters were abducted, and additional scenes of severe violence.

In the footage, which was filmed inside the base's armored personnel carrier, the five observers who are still in captivity are seen bleeding and cruelly forced to the ground as hundreds of militants take over the base, while their friends are murdered before their eyes. You can hear the screams and see the violence of the militants inside the armored vehicle, the paralyzing fear of the soldiers fighting for their lives, and the injuries they suffer.

On October 7th, 15 observers serving at the Nahal Oz base were murdered, and seven were abducted alive to the Gaza Strip. Ori Megidish was rescued by IDF forces after 23 days in captivity, Noa Marziano was murdered by Hamas militants while in captivity and her body was rescued by the IDF for burial in Israel. Five observers have been in Hamas captivity for 229 days already: Liri Albeg, Karina Ariev, Agam Berger, Daniella Gilboa, and Naama Levi.

  • Arabic newspaper al-Araby al-Jadeed reports that Egyptian mediators are testing the waters to see if they can restart indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas on reaching a hostage deal.

The report in the London-based pro-Qatari daily cites an Egyptian source close to Cairo saying that contacts are being made with “all active parties.”

The report comes hours after Israel’s war cabinet okayed negotiators to continue talks aimed at reaching a deal, despite a lack of progress in recent weeks and friction between Israel and Egypt.

According to the Egyptian source, an Israeli working delegation has visited Cairo on a weekly basis to discuss security coordination and attempt to get past an impasse over Israel’s control of the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, which has led to increasingly vocal mutual recriminations.

The source said discussions had lately also centered around the role of Egyptian mediation.

Egypt threatened to pull out of its mediator role in a statement on Wednesday, alluding to anger over claims by the US and Israel that Cairo had secretly changed the terms of a potential deal Jerusalem had agreed to, scuttling the chances for a deal.

The source claims to al-Jadeed al-Araby that leaks to the media regarding Egypt’s reported subterfuge aided attempts by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to “evade responsibility” for the fact that the sides have been unable to reach an agreement.  link

Gaza

  • The Kfir Brigade’s Netzah Yehuda Battalion and other forces under the Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade began a new pinpoint raid in northern Gaza’s Beit Hanoun in recent days, the military says.

Three soldiers were killed yesterday in two separate incidents in the area.

The IDF has carried out several operations in Beit Hanoun since it was first captured in the initial ground offensive last year.

In the ongoing raid, the military says troops are working to kill remaining gunmen and locate tunnels among other infrastructure used by terror groups.

The Air Force has struck numerous targets in Beit Hanoun in recent days, including anti-tank launch positions, sniper positions, and other buildings used by Hamas.

The military releases footage showing the identification of a gunman opening fire at troops from a building. It says tanks shelled the building and a drone also carried out a strike, killing the gunman. Moments later, another operative began opening fire from the same location, and a short while later a fighter jet took out the building, the IDF says.  video

  • US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant in a call on Wednesday of the need for an “effective mechanism” to coordinate humanitarian and military operations in Gaza, the Pentagon says.

The American readout says Austin stressed the Biden administration’s “ironclad support for Israel” and “reiterated strong US objections to the International Criminal Court prosecutor’s outrageous application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders.”

Austin also called for Israel to work to increase the amount of aid entering Gaza and together with Gallant “acknowledged a shared interest in the enduring defeat of Hamas and the urgent release of all hostages.”

“They discussed how best to defeat Hamas’ Rafah remnants while minimizing civilian harm,” the statement adds.  link

  • The UN World Food Program says that it has handed out in Gaza in recent days a “limited number” of high-energy biscuits that arrived from a US-built pier, the first aid from the new humanitarian sea route to get into the hands of Palestinians in grave need.

The small number of biscuits came in the first shipments unloaded from the pier Friday, WFP spokesman Steve Taravella says. The US Agency for International Development tells The Associated Press that a total of 41 trucks loaded with aid from the more than $320 million pier have reached humanitarian organizations in Gaza.

“Aid is flowing” from the pier, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters Wednesday in response to questions about the troubled launch of aid deliveries from the maritime project. “It is not flowing at a rate that any of us are happy with.” Pentagon spokesman Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder told reporters Tuesday that he did not believe any of the aid from the pier had yet reached people in Gaza. Sullivan said a day later that some aid had been delivered “specifically to the Palestinians who need it.”  link

  • IDF finds rockets in Rafah graveyard as troops push deeper into south Gaza city:  Israeli troops located missiles and rocket launchers belonging to the Hamas terror group in a Rafah graveyard, the military said Thursday, as soldiers deepened their assault in the Strip’s southernmost city.

Soldiers have killed several Palestinian gunmen in close-quarters combat and airstrikes across Gaza took out a number of terror group operatives, including one who was among the approximately 3,000 to storm into southern Israel on October 7, the Israel Defense Forces also said in a statement.

Troops of the Givati Brigade operating in the eastern part of the city found the projectiles at the grave site, as well as a number of “significant underground” sites used by terror operatives. The statement did not provide further details on the tunnels.

The IDF’s assault on Hamas in Rafah has set some 950,000 people fleeing what had been a refuge for around half of Gaza’s 2.3 million people.

Some 300,000 to 400,000 civilians remain in Rafah, mostly in the coastal area and some parts of the center of the city, according to information seen by The Times of Israel on Monday.

The IDF has asserted that Rafah is Hamas’s last major stronghold in Gaza, and where four of its battalions are located: Yabna (South), Shaboura (North), Tel Sultan (West), and East Rafah. Two more Hamas battalions remain in central Gaza, in the Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah camps.

Israel believes Hamas leaders and many operatives are hiding in Rafah, and also that an unspecified number of the remaining 124 hostages kidnapped in the Hamas-led October 7 atrocities are being held in the city. Israel says it has no choice but to attack the city to root out the Hamas battalions there.

The military has been slowly moving into the eastern outskirts of Rafah since the start of the month, as Palestinians have evacuated to the al-Mawasi area, designated by the IDF as a “humanitarian zone,” on the Strip’s coast, and to central Gaza. Residents told Reuters Thursday that Israeli tanks advanced in Rafah’s southeast, edged toward Yabna, and continued to operate in three eastern suburbs.

Northern Israel - Lebanon/Hizbollah

  • The government delayed approving the plan to rehabilitate the north:
The government promised residents of the north a plan to rehabilitate the north, but seven months after the outbreak of the war, the vote on the plan was postponed again today • Earlier this week, Prime Minister Netanyahu promised the heads of the northern authorities: "We have a 48-hour deadline for a decision and we will finish it immediately"

At the government meeting held last night (Wednesday), a major plan for the rehabilitation of the north was supposed to be approved. However, the government postponed the vote and plans to vote on it only next week - seven months after the outbreak of the war.

The government made quite a few promises to residents of the north along the way on this issue. For example, Prime Minister Netanyahu told the heads of the northern authorities in January: "In the coming days we will bring the government's decision to develop the north, which is taking shape these days, in the amount of 3.5 billion shekels." This week, the Prime Minister met again with the heads of the authorities and said: "We have a 48-hour deadline for a decision and we will finish it immediately."

It should be noted that the plan to rehabilitate the north has been significantly increased compared to what was originally planned, but at the same time the government has already promised many plans to the residents of the north and has done nothing about it.

**PM promised on Sunday: "The north will flourish"**

During the meeting with the heads of the northern authorities held on Sunday, PM Netanyahu was asked "How do you bring back the evacuated residents?" Netanyahu replied: "I have an orderly plan to bring back the residents with full security." However, he refused to detail his plan for the heads of the authorities but promised: "The north will flourish."

In an official statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office after the meeting, Netanyahu refused to specify a date for the return of residents to their homes: "I'm not going to tell Hezbollah what we're going to do. I will not share with our sworn enemy dates and exactly how we will do it. You shall make peace with cunning and security, but also war." He added: "We are committed to restoring security, and we will do so. Right now we will solve the things you have raised. If we stand by all these things, the north will flourish, it is going to happen in the south and it will happen in the north as well."  link  - Not only will Netanyahu not tell Hizbollah what his plans are, he won't tell anyone else, the council heads of the north, not the 80,000 residents who are still evacuated from their homes for almost 8 months, and not even the army because, like everything else, he doesn't have a plan.

  • The IDF attacked Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon; an explosive drone entered Beit Hillel, no casualties or damage:: Fighter jets attacked two Hezbollah launchers in the area of Marvin and Aita al-Sha'ab in southern Lebanon. In addition, warplanes attacked a terrorist infrastructure of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the Rab al-Taltin area. Also, an explosive UAV that crossed Lebanese territory fell this evening in the area of Beit Hillel, there were no casualties and no damage was caused.

  • Report in Lebanon: A vehicle was attacked from the air in the village of Dajal in the Nabatia region, in the south of the country

A central Hezbollah terrorist operative was eliminated in southern Lebanon

The operative responsible for Hezbollah's infrastructure for producing strategic weapons in southern Lebanon was eliminated. An Israeli Air Force aircraft struck and eliminated earlier today (Thursday) the terrorist Muhammad Ali Nasser Faran, who was responsible for Hezbollah's infrastructure for producing and acquiring weapons in southern Lebanon. In recent years, the terrorist Nasser Faran was involved in producing Hezbollah's unique and strategic weapons, and some of the infrastructure he was responsible for in southern Lebanon was attacked over the past few months. His elimination is part of the IDF and security forces' operations to strike Hezbollah's efforts to acquire weapons and munitions intended to harm the Israeli home front.  video

  • Rocket alert sirens are sounding again in northern towns and cities near the border with Lebanon, warning of incoming missile fire.

The sirens can be heard in largely evacuated communities including Kfar Giladi, Kiryat Shmona, Margaliot, Misgav Am and Tel Hai.

Dozens of rockets have been fired at the north throughout the day, with Hezbollah claiming the most recent attack was launched to avenge an Israeli strike earlier in the day that killed a member of the Iran-backed group responsible for building weapons.

West Bank

  •  A Palestinian man shot during clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank Wednesday night has died of his wounds, official Palestinian Authority news outlet Wafa reports, citing a local hospital director.

The death of Mustafa Ibrahim Musa Jabareen, 30, brings the toll in two days of fighting in the northern West Bank city to 12 Palestinians, according to Wafa. The Israeli military said Wednesday afternoon that its raid in Jenin was ongoing, noting that “forces exchanged fire with gunmen and killed several terrorists, including two terrorists who threw explosives at troops.” The raid began Tuesday morning. According to Wafa, the dead include four minors, a teacher and a doctor.

An armed cell of militants was identified as it hid weapons in a vehicle inside the compound of a hospital in Jenin. Forces from the Haruv reconnaissance unit and Battalion 636 closed in and confiscated the weapons in the midst of the IDF and Shin Bet operation in Jenin in the Menashe Brigade. An armed cell of militants was identified firing at the forces by ambush fighters of Battalion 636. Guided by an aerial operator with a drone from the unit, fighters from the Haruv reconnaissance unit began pursuing the cell of militants that fled to a hospital in the area to hide. The fighters followed the travel route of the militants and managed to locate the vehicles in a nearby parking lot to the hospital. The militants had hidden their weapons in a vehicle and fled on foot into the hospital compound. The fighters broke into the vehicles and found six weapons and ammunition that had been used by the militants.

Politics and the Region

  • IDF confirms: Netanyahu received 4 warning letters from Military Intelligence before the massacre: The IDF confirms: In 2023, Netanyahu received four different warning letters from Military Intelligence about the damage to social cohesion in the eyes of Israel's enemies. The information was received in response to a freedom of information request by the "Victory" movement. -LINK

At the end of October, Netanyahu denied receiving warnings about the possibility of war breaking out. "Contrary to the false claims, under no circumstances and at no stage was a warning given to Prime Minister Netanyahu about Hamas' intention for war," Netanyahu wrote in a tweet that he later deleted from his Twitter account.

"On the contrary," the Prime Minister added, "all security officials, including the head of Military Intelligence and the head of the Shin Bet, estimated that Hamas is deterred and oriented towards arrangements. This is the assessment that was repeatedly presented to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet by all security officials and the intelligence community, including until the outbreak of the war." A public storm erupted following Netanyahu's tweet, and the Prime Minister apologized for his words.

Last July, hours before the vote on the law to abolish the reasonability clause, the Prime Minister and Defense Minister asked the head of Military Intelligence and the head of the Operations Directorate to come to the Knesset and brief the cabinet ministers and the government on the situation following the advancement of the judicial revolution. Only three ministers showed up - Avi Dichter, Gila Gamliel and Eli Cohen. The government ministers claimed: We were busy with votes, there was no time. link

this is just another of the many signs that Netanyahu received before October 7 and ignored and then lied about them. Prior to the attack, the Chief of General Staff tried to meet with him on 3-4 separate occasions to discuss this same threat and Netanyahu refused to meet with him. HE IS RESPONSIBLE!!!!

  • U.S. Central Command Update: At approximately 3:16 p.m. (Sanaa time) on May 22, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) forces successfully engaged four uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) in an Iranian-backed Houthi controlled area of Yemen.  It was determined these systems presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region. These actions are taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels. link
  • BOGOTA, Colombia — Colombian President Gustavo Petro has ordered the opening of an embassy in the West Bank city of Ramallah, the South American country’s Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo tells journalists.

At the beginning of this month, Petro, who has heavily criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and requested to join South Africa’s case accusing Israel of genocide at the International Court of Justice, said he would cut diplomatic relations with Israel over its actions in Gaza amid the war against Hamas.

“President Petro has given the order that we open the Colombian embassy in Ramallah, the representation of Colombia in Ramallah, that is the next step we are going to take,” Murillo says.

Ramallah serves as the administrative capital of the Palestinian Authority, the Fatah-dominated rival of Gaza-ruling Hamas.  link
